Bob

you saw it here first - get in now for founder's round of shares - no clear business plan other than to raise 100s of millions of $$ - become a unicorn in our sector (not sure what that sector is) then diversify a la uber until we find a business sector where we can actually make money... wink

Apple clearly believe it’s going to be AR. Other are pouring loads of money into VR

Since Jobs popped his clogs Apple have fallen further and further behind the curve, Amazon have now taken on more of the music market and have nailed the alexa thing, that is something Apple should have been market leaders with but Siri is still as poor as ever.

From a (very) uneducated view I agree with that completely. The HomePod should be the best in class surely as this is what Apple have prided themselves on with most other pieces of kit, and yet most people seem to refer to Alexa as the best in class (in terms of it's popularity/brand awareness). I can't see this having happened if Jobs was heading it up. I'm not a techy person though so could well be talking out of my hole.

1)Driverless anything. That's got to be the next leap.
If you can have 1000s of vehicles / ships / drones on the go it will speed up the whole supply chain.

2)High speed travel.
Some form of high speed travel to get us from say LA to London quickly.

3)Reducing demand / need for oil.
Move to electric then probably to HFC and finally exotic fuels. See 1 and 2.

Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Apple all have put their lot into cloud computing and storage, I'd say thats going to be quite and earner over the next decade if we all keep taking photos at the rate we are.

Apple never were ahead of the curve. They've always waited for a market to be established and then created the killer product for it.

I don’t think this’ll happen for a long time. The costs of saving the time aren’t worth the expense in doing so.

Designer masks.

Your wardrobe will be full of all kinds from simple washing the car masks to full on dress masks for your dinner for two evening and funny masks like cat faces.

There are new jets being developed at the moment and I think we're going to see an evolution of air travel due to climate change anyway.

I had seen there's a couple of super high-end projects - private jet style or v small commercial i.e. circa 50 passengers. I don't see a plane of the size to take 200-300 people happening.

I had read the post I commented as meaning a replacement to current travel. If he meant an expensive addition to (like Concorde was), then perhaps sooner...but I still think it's quite a long way off.

Work from home software will improve and possibly the hardware too like lap tops with a built in ear peace etc like u have a stylus for a phone. Who knows but zoom is good not perfect and firms will look at cost savings of moving out of large offices
