Is it me or does anyone else have a problem with today’s ‘Alex’ cartoon?

not quite as easy as that though is it (as well you know!). AG was played as a bigoted fool who was shown to be a man out of time, the hard of thinking used it as a clarion cry against BAME

Biggest problem I’d have is that it’s not actually all that humorous

Alf Garnet was pure caricature, shows were written by Johnny Speight , a lifelong (champagne?) socialist. The fact the character was adopted by many of those.carlcatired was perhaps the ultimate irony, life being satire's zenith and all...

Alf Garnet hasn’t been shown on tv for over 40 years, several here won’t even know who he was. I certainly wouldn’t own up to remembering him.

I'm particularly interested in the concept that car vandals are regular readers of the Daily Telegraph.

No doubt they wait until they've finished the cryptic crossword and then pop out for a bit of keying.

No, that is not inciting car crime, is it?

However I am sure someone can now do a study of car crime statistics where the crime was vandalism over the last 5 years, say, to get a "norm" and then see how the difference is against the stats in the period since the publication of the cartoon.

Weight it properly to see if areas where the Daily Telegraph is a popular choice are now greater targets than they were in the past

Hey presto, you've got an answer.

Yes do many non-white collar criminals read the business cartoon?

He made a bit of a comeback when Destiny's Child did that song about him....

Did you stop to think my post was agreeing with you? Or is that such a rare occurrence on PH these days that argumentative is the go to assumption? Did you see which way the chicken went?

With my advancing years, I have found myself getting 'nap attacks.' smile Really liked that strip cartoon, the movies were a travesty.
