New Lease - Should I Cancel?
Discussion
Hi,
I entered into lease proceedings in February (pre-covid) for one of the Seat Leon Cupra deals (circa £220/m), and have paid the admin fee only.
I've now been told by the broker that there is no way of knowing when the car will be built, and could be up to 12 months away.
My gut feel is that 12 months will probably make the Cupra deal a bit outdated and that there will likely be other, better deals out there.
Has anyone else been in this position with covid, and if so what advice would you give? I'm not tied to this particular car, was just the best deal at the time.
Cheers, stay safe!

See this is where I'm confused, the broker can't say where along on the build it is. The planned build week was 20/04 but this is obviously not happening now the factories are closed.
The 12 month comment was more of a "worst case" but it's anybody's guess how long lockdown measures will continue.
It was £1400ish up front (not yet paid) and £235/m, apologies. Just feeling a bit unsure about whether cancelling is the right thing to do or to wait it out.

I ordered a cupra and it had the same provisional build date (20 April).
I cancelled it as soon as the lockdown started and am glad I did tbh. As far as I’m aware the factories are still closed and they will be wanting to start building the make when they do re-open (think prices etc get announced on the 5th May).
Only thing now is I have no idea what car to get in future or whether to get a motorbike instead when all of this is over.
