Need a new car

Hi, first time poster, be gentle

I’m after a new car, I do about 15k (90% motorway) miles a year and have a budget of 8k max
I know I’m not going to get everything on my wish list but here goes:

Mid to high 40’s mpg
Estate
Diesel
Manual preferably
Fast ish
2012 or newer
70k miles or less
Fsh

Am I looking in the right place Octavia, v60/70, Leon fr

Or is there something else?

You should be able to get a 2014/15 Leon FR for that sort of money. You would find Octavia VRS's as well but I think they would be a year or two older in the budget.

If you were willing to add a few miles on, and/or a few pounds to the budget, then A4 avants and 320d touring would start to enter the scene. Worth considering if you fancy a German whip.

Mondeo Estate would be my first choice, you will get something newer for your budget, 8k 320d has the potential for timing chain issue, don't discount a C220d either.
