Very interesting photos of the DB2/4 chassis number LML748, how did you come by them?

According to the AM register, the car was discovered in the Isle of Man in 1999, implying it had been lost a while

Well spotted, and if it is an SD1 they were launched in mid 1976 so the photo could be earlier than 80s. In which case a then 25 year old Aston was really not worth a huge amount

For example in 1975 I looked at buying a DB5 for £950, but was put off by its colour, mink. It would have been in shocking condition too!

DB, can you shed any light on this DB4 LBG 871 ? It was last seen in circa 1974, it’s Woodford Green surgeon owner, sadly died suddenly and his widow sold it for a pittance, to a police man.

In the book Goldfinger there’s a chapter called thoughts in a DB3.
Now there never was a road DB3, this is the car I always associate with that book.

The red DB4 is DB4/745/R, a series 3 car that was certainly known till about 2003

Goldfinger Chaper 7 is called Thoughts in a D.B.III which Mark III was the current model when the book came out in 1959, rather than a DB3

Can you give me any more info on the DB4 ?
It doesn’t show on DVLA.
The Late surgeon owners daughter, is very keen to know more, that is her recently deceased mother with the car and perhaps see it again.

If the DB4 was known to AMOC in 2003, it seems unlikely that it's a long term pre-DVLA "sleeper" (1978 approx), and I'd very much doubt it'll have been scrapped. I'd therefore reckon it's been properly exported from the UK. You could try an enquiry to the Aston Martin Heritage Trust but in present environment you might face a significant delay in responding
