What company car for load hauling and high miles?
Discussion
Evening all,
My company car is up for swapping when we are back at work following the current events and i'm hoping you kind folks can give me some suggestions.
I currently have a 63 plate Volvo V60 D3 business edition with 150,000. Still runs incredibly well, very efficient but incredibly boring! you may also have noticed its approaching 7 years old. Up until now, the company I work for has given us a budget to buy out right, no leasing. I am going to be the first guinea pig for leasing, however we are not going the conventional route and picking from a list, we are going to be allowed to choose what we like within reason.
the criteria for me is it must be roughly the same size as my v60, relatively good on BIK (sub £2k a year), comfortable enough to do 25,000 miles a year and not a BMW, Audi or Mercedes. weirdly, we are not given a budget for our car but rather a 'know your place' I can't be seen to drive a premium brand as i'm not management. my job has me visiting the dirtiest farms one day and the next I could be meeting company directors for very large companies, or even government.
Pick ups are also an option, which I like mostly due to tax reasons but little else appeals to me.
so, please let me hear your suggestions!

I don't even know if such cars still exist but years ago we had the same sort of 'non-prestige' mentality plus we weren't allowed to add options so I went for top the range mass-market cars like Peugeot 406 Executive (I particularly liked that as it had no options available at all - everything you could think of was standard) and Mondeo GhiaX. I guess the BIK would be horrendous on modern versions of those?
We did change every two years though, so if you made a mistake it wasn't too horrendous.

Mondeo Vignale Estate is the pick in either diesel/petrol Hybrid form.
Also take a look at the new 508 SW in GT trim they come in 2.0d or 1.6T Hybrid form
I didn't know there was a hybrid Mondeo, I will definitely look into that. I wonder if there is going to be a hybrid focus coming out? I am a big fan of the Peugeot as well, one of the best looking cars out there at the minute. Also take a look at the new 508 SW in GT trim they come in 2.0d or 1.6T Hybrid form
I do like something a little bit different than the usual sea of black, grey or white VAGS
