I've looked carefully through various pallet delivery websites, this is for a pallet of goods I'm sending UK to UK. When it comes to the subject of insurance I pick carefully through their terms and conditions and they all seem to be limiting their liability to a small amount per kilo, which isn't going to do it for me.

I don't have goods in transit on my insurance because I never send goods, they're always collected, but due to the unique circumstances it would benefit my customer if I could send it.

Some firms offer extra insurance but still the sum per kg is seriously inadequate.

Suggestions welcome.

Not sure if this is any use? I only use them for HGV insurance, not GIT. Ask for Nathan, he'll point you in the right direction if nothing else.

We have goods in transit and also for hire and reward and offer a same day dedicated UK service - www.positiveimageslogistics.co.uk

I can quote to ship if that helps, are the goods dangerous or hazardous?

Sorry, I didn't make it clear that I'm only looking for one-off insurance, I won't be sending stuff out in the future.

Are the goods unusual?

No, they're not. I wouldn't be keen on sending it unless I could get insurance to £2,400.

A single shipment policy via broker wouldn’t be economically viable for £2400 value of goods

What does the carrier offer?

Can’t you agree with the client for them to pay the extra for insurance?

A courier service would be better, one who picks it up from you and drops it off.

Agreed, I use a local man and van who does nationwide runs every 7-10 days - never had a problem shipping furniture of all sorts.

We have £20,000 goods in transit and offer a same day collection and delivery around the UK wink

Pm me the details of delivery and collection and your expectation of cost and I’ll see if I can help if that’s ok?

Edited to add last week with the clients sign off we moved a van load of McLaren carbon fibre bits for a prototype car around........

Worth £250,000 so I was told yikes

They arrived as they left, in one piece and on time wink

I'll do that, the address it's going to is about 8 minutes according to Google from your place!

Well, I'm happy to be able to report that HoHoHo collected the pallet and a bunch of cabinets this afternoon, and they will be with my customer later this evening. Excellent service and I thoroughly recommend him to anybody who needs stuff moving reliably smile
