I've just had a couple of songs pop up on YouTube and got me to wondering which songs could be considered a particular group's signature song? That is to say no matter if they've had bigger hits this is the one song that is forever 'theirs', for example:

Boston - More Than a Feeling
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Ultravox - Vienna
Abba - Waterloo

Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer
Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline
John Denver - Take Me Home, Country Road
Seal - Kiss from a Rose
Frank Sinatra - My Way
Dean Martin - That's Amore
AC/DC - Hi Way to Hell/Back in Black or Thunderstruck (maybe the first?)

I thought Abba would be Knowing me, Knowing you.
And could you do this with Elvis, with so many songs?

I was about (well, I did post it, but deleted it) to post

The Stranglers - Golden Brown

because if ever I mention to an average person that I'm into that band, they'll inevitably say "oh yes, they did Golden Brown, didn't they?". But I'm not sure it really fits the thread because it doesn't really define the band, it's quite a departure from most of their other stuff. But it's almost certainly their most well-known.

Europe - Final Countdown

Which is a shame as it overshadows a lot of other good work.
