Lexus is300h reviews / alternatives - £13k budget
Discussion
Hello all,
Looking at getting my dad something a little nicer to drive around in. He's always been driving something Japanese and "boring", so thought the only relevant upgrade would be something like a Lexus is300 as it's luxurious (comparable / if not better then BMW/Mercedes) and they're easy to drive / good on fuel (being a hybrid) and also have a hell of a reliability record.
Anything to look out for on one of these? Any alternatives?
We've got our eye on one that's a 2014 F Sport model and it's up for ~£13k. Ideally we don't want to pay anymore then that (especially from a private seller). Would this be a good price to pay for one? I think they hold there value pretty well, but I'm not overly clued up on these.
Your views / suggestions are welcome!
Thanks

It depends on how many miles it has as well as if it has the Premium nav & Mark Levinson stereo etc?
If you want an alternative the there are two
Infiniti Q50 S 3.5h fit on finish on these is on par with the Lexus I have two family members with them & they've been faultless & they come loaded with the Bose stereo & sunroof being the only options to look for Adaptive cruise 360 Cameras etc is standard, oh & they're properly quick should your dad like that kind thing.

The car above is silly cheap as most will have double the mileage so for me it's an absolute bargain & worth going £400 over budget for.

The Lexus we've shortlisted has just over 55k miles, premium nav, Heated/Cooled seats, standard stereo, (though from what I've read from a few owners over on the LexusOC, maybe that's not such a bad thing - plus he's not a audiophile and I imagine the standard stereo in one of these is fairly decent)If you want an alternative the there are two

Thanks for these suggestions. Not overly sold on the infinity - I've never seen a dealer so I assume servicing for them would be rather difficult to arrange in comparison to something more mainstream.
The BMW doesn't do anything for him unfortunately - majority of cars I've had have been german and he's seen me tinkering with them more often then not.

Servicing is taken care of by Nissan dealerships what you have to remember this is a mainstream model around the world.

Yea that's been common knowledge for 18 months which is why Nissan took over the warranty/servicing duties & the reason they're a great price. Also those hybrid infiniti, who makes the engine? Nissan / Merc / other?
They never really pushed their range of cars brand recognition hurt them but the biggest hit came with the EU emission limits for manufacture's & no Micras to balance out the emissions they were pretty much doomed, it's also the reason we don't have the Honda Accord over here.
The engine is the same engine that was used in the 350Z the Hybrid system is Nissan's it works well the Toyota system is slightly better at crawling speeds as you don't notice the transition from Electric to engine which you do in the Infiniti.
In Japan this car is a Nissan Skyline 350GT Hybrid.
I think the new QX50 would've sold well over here:
