Is this Hastings? RAC Rally 1955 XK120

I believe this is the final test at Hastings on the 1955 Blackpool to Hastings Rally RAC Rally.

Somebody from Hastings has told me I'm incorrect and it's not Hastings.
I stand by my belief that it is Hastings.

Can anybody confirm either way?

That’s not Hastings pier in 1965

It looks similar to that now but only for the last 5 years or so
Since the national lottery grant and rebuild

Looks very much like Blackpool North Pier to me.

The picture is taken from behind the Metropole Hotel.

Also I think the owner of the pier is a PistonHeads member
He may have some images from 60s to confirm

North Pier is the pier in the bottom of this picture. The long jetty off the end of the pier was destroyed in 1997 so it is a bit shorter today.
