Evening all,

In the interest of trying to learn new things and trying to make my tatty fairings look less tatty... I am going to try a bit of refurbishment.

I have picked up fiberglass kit / filler etc, but are there any recommendations on primer, paint and lacquer sources?

With the lack of a compressor I'm going to have to go down the rattle can route, but imagine some are better than others.

Any recommendations or advice welcome please!

I rattle canned a belly pan the other week using Plastikote rattle can. Was really impressed with it.

I used the simoniz acrylic paint in spray cans on my track fairings, tank and tail piece . They only do the basic colours but it provided a uniform white starting point for me to add vinyl details . Cheap and dries quickly .

I'm doing the same - repairing some old crash damage.

The best tip I've found is to heat the cans in some hot water (from the tap, not boiling) for 10 mins before use. Helps to atomise the paint better and stop "blobs".
I've done four out of six panels so far and it looks pretty good
