Hi. I’ve got a 2018 X5M it’s not moved for a few weeks and tried it this morning and battery was flat. No problem, opened the door with the manual key, jump started from another car and taken it out for a run to charge up (whilst going to the shops). Only issue is that the key fobs seem to have stopped working and won’t lock the car. I’ve changed the batteries in both fobs but made no difference. Cant see anything in the manual about how to recode keys (albeit assume key and car must still recognise each other at some levels since it will start and does change the seats/mirrors etc depending upon which fob you get into the car with). I’ve tried holding fob against the steering column and starting car which hasn’t made a difference. Any ideas please?

Posted in M section but replicated here.

The BMW procedure is to hold the fob next to the key symbol on the steering column, push and keep the start button button pressed.

The no remote message will appear, after 10secs it should disappear. Release the start stop button, move the fob and try starting the car.

All other functions should return to the key also.

Hopefully it works, I'm away to check on my X5M which has also sat for more than 2 weeks, I might need the same procedure !

Thanks. I really should have driven it before now, just been taking the other car out, I thought it’d be ok but battery was totally flat.
