How to update Skoda digital service records?
Discussion
I use an Independent.
Audi, VW, Skoda etc.
They have direct access to the Audi Service Record (or whatever its called).
They stick my 'Fob' into their PC and its all there.
Its quite a big outfit though.
This Independent charges £75 + vat per hour which is a lot cheaper than the Dealership.
Hope this helps.

This is the first car i have had with no service book, and so far only the digital records to show the services from official dealers. If i use a good independent, how are they meant to "stamp" the service record?
I've used an independent for my S4 for the last couple of years, they access the same system as Audi and have updated the digital record. Not sure if available to all or if some accreditation is required? but I think they just need to signup/subscribe to the system.

Really? Surprised thats a thing. .
Cheers both for the reply. Another question if i may....
I cant figure out the actual service schedule. Oil looks to be covered by internal monitoring on a variable basis, which is annoying as it wants another oil change just 3000 miles after the last.
But i don't see any documentation from Skoda to specify cambelts, plugs etc. Its all just "refer to your dealer". Why is such information so secret. Its not like those two things are variable. Its a predetermined time frame, and it should be documented.
Briskoda suggests 4 years for plugs and 5 for belts, but why cant we hear that from Skoda themselves.

I guess its all to lure you into the Dealership and then keep you there.
Its huge money for them over the years.
£200+ oil/filter changes etc. on certain brands.

I've come away from the Skoda main dealers for servicing now. £199 for a very basic service.
The last straw was them wanting £100 diagnosis fee. The car is under Skoda warranty FFS
Our local independent updates the service records.
And low and behold, last main dealer service wasn't even on the records.

Likewise, Audi wanted £120 to diagnose a gearbox oil leak, they reluctantly said they would do it for £60 if done during a (£400+) service (how long does it take to see that oil is leaking from a dodgy gasket when the car is on the ramp anyway?) - car was just out of warranty but the oil leak had clearly been there for some time before the warranty expired. You'd think main dealers would see this and change the way they treat such faults? or maybe they do but don't care...

Because it can change. In my time with VAG (10 years) cam belt intervals have changed and service reccomendation has changed.Cheers both for the reply. Another question if i may....
