I was terribly sad to hear that one of my favourite musicians has passed away. Dave Greenfield of The Stranglers.

No More Heroes indeed.

Very sad, his keyboard work was pivotal to the Stranglers' sound.

Just seen this, very sad day indeed. I was never into punk very much but they were a cracking band.

Very sad to see this; brilliant musician and composer. Once heard, never forgotten... his keys were such a great counterfoil to JJB's crunching bass. Another unique talent lost.

Seconded.

Massively talented man. Have tickets for their last major tour in November - if it now goes ahead. He is irreplaceable.
'Walk On By' a massive testament to his mastery of the keyboard. Up there with all of the greats.

Very sad to hear this - a brilliant musician in one of the most original bands to come out of the so called punk era.

Saw them supporting Alice Cooper in Aberdeen last year, no Jet Black but I believe he had retired from the drumming.

The other band members didn't think Golden Brown was up to much, but Dave and their manager wore them down
that his sparse, sensitive, subtle compostion was a sure fire hit.
