6-7k....had a look at a few Bim's myself of recent, SB6s , SB8 and YB10 and 11s.
Great value for the spec and exotica your getting but reading some of the owners comments on build quality and maintaining them put me off a tad and warrants the relatively low price id say...
Yeah I remember seeing a few for sale last time I looked but typically none now! Great value for the spec and exotica your getting but reading some of the owners comments on build quality and maintaining them put me off a tad and warrants the relatively low price id say...
I’d like a 90s sports bike, something to have a very occasional tear about on but mainly to stand in the garage and be something that won’t lose a ton of money.
Not really got any desire to go quickly. I am deeply in love with the 748R that’s on eBay for £8k and nearly called about it today but think the upkeep would be a pain.
Always loved the single cylinder Bimotas. Nearly bought one years ago when I had my Elise but a voice of reason asked if I wanted two unreliable vehicles in the garage so I bought something else

Wouldn’t really want one of the ‘bigger’ Bimotas (although they’re lovely and would like one!) as think they’d be a pain for spares and expensive to keep.

Id imagine many sellers are itching to do similar.
The engine and chassis seems to be pretty problem free and the least painful side of the equation, its the rest of the bike that owners (to ) often report to be poorly manufactured and / or ill fitting ...and of course unobtainable.
Moved off that idea and, at the moment, quite fancy either a Kawasaki 750 Turbo or an original Slabside 85 GSXR750 or 86 1100.
I also fancy a 2015 Kawasaki H2 ! Modern day but to me a work of art and technically interesting...sure there great fun to ride as well.
Anyway, happy shopping and keep us posted with how it all goes.
there was someone on here with a bb1 not so long ago . I have a sb6 in the garage ( not selling it btw) .for more info and bikes for sale try www.bimotaforum.co.uk

The social distancing guidelines are putting people off advertising I think Simon, I have a few items for eBay but I dont really want to go to the one remaining post office to send them off, so ill hold on.

Yeah I think you may be right about the distancing, thinking about it. Seems very few bikes for sale. Id imagine many sellers are itching to do similar.

I admire the engineering of the H2 but not my cuppa tea. I wouldn’t mind a 90s ZXR750, or and SRAD or something but i think I’d like to get something to keep long term.
A mate just threw the 900SL name into the hat. Another bike I’ve always loved but no idea what they’re going for now and suspect they may be a bit temperamental.

Thanks. I haven’t been on her much the last year or two so that’s interesting. Edited by bimsb6 on Monday 4th May 20:46
SB6’s are lovely machines but as silly as it sounds I don’t think I’d want anything that fast, even if it was for sale!
I’ll take a look at that site thanks. I’ve applied to join the Bimota Facebook page as that looks quite active

Have a good look at the ali ferrules on the brake lines there have been a number where the ali cracks and they are all that holds the lines together ! Mine split and its a low mileage always garaged from new example .
Ah ok thanks, will take a good look at them! From what I understand there was an option of twin disks on the BB1, but this one only has the single disk which suits me!
