Pink Floyd. Like most bands they developed over the years, changing, evolving.
+1 for ABBA. Personally, I think they're the greatest of all time, and so few people appreciate the complexities of the melodies. Amazing combination of genius songwriters and singers in the same band. Arrival doesn't get played as much as it should, but The Day before you came] is hauntingly sad, utter genius.
Beatles are in a way, almost timeless. I'll never buy another beatles record again, ever. But they were a very important part of my development in musical taste in my teen years. I wonder how many others here once loved the beatles but now evolved on to a more mature level of sound.
The thing is, everyone has different tastes in music, what one person likes could be fingernails on a blackboard to someone else. For me, that's Adele. So many people think she has never dropped a note, but I find Adele a bit grating, and at times sounds like the noise a banshee would make when slamming its tit in the fridge door.
