Gaming Headset - Trustable reviews website?
Discussion
I've just snapped my Corsair H2100 wireless headset by dropping them. These are what I have:
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/...
They were around 3 years old now and a bit worn, so its a good excuse to get a new set.
I bought these when I came back to UK to visit family as the choice here isn't as wide, so am looking for a reliable resource for reviews. I know I can Google, but most of these reviews seem to be sponsored and so looking for a trusted resource - its Toms Hardware Guide still reliable?
Other than review sites, maybe some PHers can recommend.
I use them for gaming (on PC only, so dont need console compatibility), mainly FPS so am after some over ears with microphone and good surround sound. Doesn't need to be wireless, but I would prefer them to be USB rather than 3.5mm as my socket at the back of PC can be hit and miss when connecting up speakers.
Things I liked about my Corsair which I would want in a new pair:
- Over ears
- Decent noise cancelling
- USB connection
- Surround sound was advertised as 7.1, which not sure if its genuine however the location of sounds on CS:GO is very accurate and helps
One last request, I live in Malaysia now and with the humidity and temperature, I need something that will last. The Corsairs were coated in some 'fake' leather, which has all peeled and disintegrated.
Budget is hard to define as the prices are overinflated here, but looking to spend maybe 75 quid - Not sure if thats a decent budget in UK? To give some idea, I can get a Steelseries Arctis 3 here for the equivalent of 50 quid
