Either way I'm really ill at the moment, I was fine yesterday morning but I was working in someones house who is a nurse on a corona ward. I went out about 11AM to get something to eat and the only thing open was one of those scruffy Premier type shops, I got a pastie and a sausage roll, looked to be home made efforts as opposed to Ginsters or something like that, I microwaved them in the customers house and by 3PM I was feeling absolutely awful, red as a beetroot, headache and aching all over.

I know you can't catch covid and it floors you all in the same day but I was working there about 3 weeks ago as well so it could have been incubating I suppose. I did feel really bloated yesterday though after eating the food like it was sloshing around inside me.

So what do we think, I don't have any trouble breathing and haven't got a cough of any sort but I have got a temperature and also bouts of the shivers but they seems to only happen last night.

It doesn't sound like either to me, but I can only go on what I've heard about Covid19 (Persistent cough being one of the key symptoms, but people can be asymptomatic) and what I've experienced with food poisoning (either vomiting or diarrhoea). Maybe call 111 for a qualified opinion?

You mention the diarrhoea, I've not had that either but when I got in yesterday I grabbed a couple of tablets and meant to pick up the paracetamol but took a couple of coedine by mistake, they stopped the pain but they bung you up so to speak, so the only think I could have done to get rid of a rancid pastie was a no goer. Maybe they stop you being sick as well.

Sounds to me like you’ve just eaten a dodgy pasty. I’m sure at some point it will explode out of you.

You can’t be “really ill”, you’re malingering on the internet with gut rot from a dodgy pie wink

The pastie exploded about 5am this morning so that's that one sorted. Still feel a little bit queasy but at least I'm up and about, it floored me for a whole day yesterday.

I'm still feeling dog rough with this whatever it is. If it was food poisoning shouldn't it have cleared up by now? The symptoms I've got are still pretty much the same, fever, headache and aches and pains, breathing is still perfect and I don't really have a cough and when I do cough its the flemmy type as opposed to a dry one.

It seems to get worse later on in the day, I feel ok at the moment but it was the same yesterday, started to go off about 4PM and was in agony most of the evening. Paracetamol helps with bringing my temp down a bit but if I take a couple of codeine sulphate tablets it kills the headache and fever more or less straight away.

If this is corona virus and this is a bad as its going to get then in some ways I'm glad I've got it now and would take a couple of weeks of agony now as opposed to catching it when I'm 10 years older with wo knows what sort of medical conditions.

I had really bad food poisoning once, hot, shivering, sweating, pukeing, aching. It lasted 5 - 7 days.
