Another Scam?

I received this text a short while ago.

Haven’t made any large purchases recently & do not recognise the name LeatherCO so would I be correct in assuming that it’s another scam?

ETA - I`ve just put ppalert.com into my browser and the anti virus went nuts !!!!!

The fact that they've got your email could mean a compromise. I'd setup 2FA and change your Paypal password just in case.

It was a text, not an email. The link asks for my email address which, obviously, I’m going to enter.

Ah ok, I didn't read the OP carefully enough to realise it was text based source.

I know 2FA is a ball ache sometimes but these days you need to take as much precaution as possible.
Besides the 2FA did prevent some late night drunken purchases

More likely that someone has just bought a contact list and spammed this message to thousands of people. Lots of people have PayPal accounts, and someone is bound to fall for it.

Certainly won’t be me. Number blocked & reported to PayPal.

OP, if you touch the “ppalert.com” on the browser page, it should give the whole url and allow you to copy it.
