Lump of carbon in valve train
Discussion
I've had to remove the inlet valve cover to renew a VVT solenoid on my eurobox. The cover had lots of carbon deposits on, and I'm sure I saw a lump or two fall into the valve train. I've removed most debris with compressed air, but I'm nervous about any pieces remaining, especially as lack of oil changes and debris has probably killed the old VVT. What's the best course of action:
1. Don't worry, it'll be fine.
2. Remove the head to be sure.
3. Remove the spark plugs and spin the engine over a few times, and change the oil soon after?
Thanks in advance.

Hoover.
Tape a length of flexible tubing of suitable diameter to fit into the hole/crevice into the end of the crevice tool so air can only be drawn through the tube.
Duct tape works well.
Be sure to clean any grease/oil etc off the end before madam uses it again on the carpet/upholstery!
