While I was under my car the other day replacing the control arms I noticed my rear differential bushing is cracked. I put some powerflex inserts in the sub frame bushings a while ago which really tightened up the rear end but ever since when I’m driving ‘enthusiastically’ there’s a slight thump from the rear on gear changes. I guess this will be down to the diff moving about exaggerated by the sub frame mounts being stiffer.
Anybody polybushed theirs and care to share their experience re. extra noise or vibration? Also, does the exhaust have to be dropped to get the diff out? I couldn’t make my mind up when I was looking at it. Thanks.

I poly bushed one E46 330d bush, the largest one. Made no difference to any noise or vibration .
