Got a Mk1 1290 Superduke with the full titanium Akrapovic and noticed a sizeable dent underneath on the front down pipe. Best way of getting it out? It links across to rear downpipe and detaches from the headers and the resonator box. Too big to go in our freezer with the water trick so looking for alternatives. Heat and compressed air? Or someone like a dent removal firm?

Something like this might work I suppose - assuming you want to take it off to do it of course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_LClTYi1gY

2T expansion pipe method won't work. "T pipes are pretty thin and even after "blowing", it's obvious what has been done. For a dirt bike, the aesthetics are less important and often covered by a pipe guard of sorts.

Ti is difficult but consider the objectives. Is it affecting the aesthetics? Or is it only you who knows it's there? Unlikely to be affecting the performance.

Couple of options if it just has to go....

1. Use car body shop type method by welding a button to the dent and using a slide hammer to pull the dent. Cut off the button and grind back. Will leave marks/evidence on the pipe naturally but probably less than what's there now. Needs a good welder who knows titanium.

2. Cut the pipe close to the dent. Work the dent out from the inside and then re-weld the tube. Again, will leave marks/evidence or work.

3. Source the section of tube from a damaged system and replace at the point of a factory weld.
