Is anyone aware of issues when running RG with W10? I've recently upgraded to W10 but cannot now get RG to connect to the car.
I've been through all the usual palava of resetting the Com port and mucking about with settings but cannot get the laptop and the car to connect. I had this problem frequently with W7 but always managed to get them communicating in the end.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

Error message? Do you have the new com port number, as it may have a new one with new hardware ? Have you re run the driver installation on W10?

Thanks for such a quick reply.
I've checked and rechecked the Com port. No I haven't re-installed the driver but I'm wondering if it's a cable issue. Initially there was a flashing light in the USB plug but now there's nothing. What is the most recent version of the driver and where can I download it from just to rule that out?

The important bit about the hardware is windows should make a sound as the USB is plugged in - this also normally involves a quick blink of the light as well. Have a look in device manager as you plug in the cable- it should "refresh" as windows plugs and plays, but without re installing the driver it wont know what it is or assign it a port number. Installing the drivers is first point of call. Drivers here:

There's no sound but Device Manager does recognise the USB and allocates Com 5. The software shows Com 5 but despite this the little light in the USB plug doesn't flash as one would expect if two way communication was taking place.

I'll uninstall the existing version of RG and reinstall and let you know what happens.

Thanks

I've deleted all the old version of RG and tried to download the new version but it seems I have to install Dropbox first. I've done that (yet another bloody password!) I get this message

Why is it saying "the folder Rovergauge/CD doesn't exist" ?

Is there any easy way of doing this? I don't remember it being this difficult.

Many thanks.
Version 0.10.5-Windows-x86_65(1) installed and the other items downloaded.
I'll try the cable again tomorrow and let you know what happens.
Thanks again.

Still no luck. The red light in the USB plug now flashes continuously but there's still no connection with the ECU...

I've checked the COM port setting through Device Manager and it's definitely COM5.

It's looking increasingly like a cable issue so can I send it to you to check please?
