My last few cars I've just taken to the local car wash. I want to take better care of my 991.2 GTS. Can anyone recommend a 'simple' car cleaning routine and products. I'm thinking a simple hand wash and an easy to apply and remove wax/polish.
15+ years ago someone recommended a product for my 993 which was excellent and really easy to use. You applied and wiped off in 30 minutes or so and it didn't smear and left the car looking amazing. Any suggestions please?

I have found a simple way to wash my cars. If heavily soiled I take to the local jet wash and for a couple of quid I jet wash (plain water) body, wheels , arches etc . Or you could do at home .
I then wash at home the 2 bucket method and rinse with water in a watering can from my water butt as I go along and allow to dry naturally,no water marks as rain water is pure etc. I do dry the glass though. Excellent results every time, and the cleaning takes very little time you can do just the front if you want etc also environmentally friendly.
I am now going to invest in a large water butt purely for this.
I use the Zymol natural concentrate car wash from halfords and have done so for over 15 years

Jet wash large bits off
Snow foam and leave for a few mins
Rinse
2-bucket wash
Rinse
Dry

Once dry I’ve had good lasting results with both Speedguard ‘ceramic style’ spray and Meguires liquid ceramic wax (the blue stuff).

And rainex spray on the windows, gets a streak free finish.

Many ways to skin a cat though

Once done, you really need to take it for a decent run to get everything up to temperature and dry out the bits you can’t see.
Far better long term.
