Hi
My 12 year old son has the Roland td17 kv digital drum set up. He usually plays through his headphones, he is a beginner.
He wants to start 'jamming' with his brother who plays the electric guitar. We have a guitar amp but not a drum amp.

Can anybody recommend me a drum amp please? Preferably under £250 if possible.
It has to be something that is in stock and that I can get within a couple of days.

Or should I be looking at a PA speaker instead?

Thank you

I have a Roland TD12 with PM-3 Monitor setup which is nice, but even a second hand PM-3 is probably going to eat up much of your budget.

If your lad has an eye on playing in a band in the future then I would suggest looking at powered stage monitors instead. I have amassed a good collection of second hand PA kit in recent years and really like Behringer's F1220Ds - you could nearly get a pair of these for the £250 budget (e.g. https://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_f1220_eurolive... They are nice as they also have pole mounts so you can also use them as high level PA speakers as well as floor wedges.

Thanks. That particular Behringer doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere in the UK at the moment, but I will look at others made by them.

Chris, does anything here that's in stock take your fancy?

Go on Facebook market place and pick up a set of Mackie SM450's PA speakers (350's if not in price braket)

They will come in handy in future and retain resale value - They will also take more of a battering than Behringer gear.

Alternatively something like this will have more than enough omph to drive you up the wall! But it will mean he always a monitor if he does gigs.
