Tooth cleaning powders?

Mrs MB has just started asking about her maybe buying”Sm##k” tooth whitening powder.
Any real world experience or input would be appreciated as online review sites are notoriously unreliable.

She could try Eucryl tooth powder instead - readily available online and very cheap effective product.

Retired dentist here; if there is some staining on her teeth, smoking, tea drinker, red wine stains, then the more abrasive stuff might shift it a bit.

However, they are quite aggressive compounds and aren’t really good to use more than a few times per year. They will start to remove tooth enamel if used frequently and without careful technique.

What they won’t do is make the teeth “whiter” that needs a bleaching solution and should only be done by a dentist.
