Still looking around my car and noticed a couple of items Im sure someone can help with
1) the diff has a label with RR on it is that confirmation of Hydralok?
2) by the petrol filler is a foil sticker with red writing instructing in the use of super unleaded (98 octane) only ! yet my handbook says 95 is OK (I do try to fill with Optimax but it is hard to find)
can anyone give me some info on these. TA.

RGDs Peter.

Is it just me, or is this a thread with no actual content?

In lieu of anything... the Cerbera RR has a switch for 95 & 97 octane fuel. On the one occasion I couldn't find 97 it wasn't very happy on 95 anyway. You could feel the difference flicking the switch (as verified by Joolz as a passenger), but we forgot to try the 95 mapping on the rolling road.

Sorry for the lack of a thread perhaps I can expand the issue? I dont believe I have a red rose so does the RR on the diff mean it is a hydralok (or how else do you tell?)
As for the octane I was bemused by the sticker not reflecting the handbook instruction is this normal ie do you all have this sticker?

I have this sticker also, but only fill with 97 ron. 97-98 RON makes no notice'able difference! Have not tried 95.

Mine has a hydrotrack diff and also has a HYROTRACK sticker stuck to it! not RR.

Sorry - some issues with PH last night - it's there now! Is it an earlyish 4.2? I would follow the sticker by the fuel cap in that case - they were mapped for super unleaded I believe. Was the handbook the original one with the car?

No idea on the diff - again, think the early 4.2 where mostly the plate type. Probably better anyway

It's an august 1999 4.5 the handbook is original and covers all 3 engine types. It recommends 95ron for normal driving (all engine types) and as a side note it recommends 98 ron for high performance ie driving days.RGDs Peter

You can get a written build specification of the car from the factory. Phone the number on the Web Site and give the Reg Number and the chassis number and they will send you a complete breakdown of original equiptment. Also, they'll let you know if the car has been suppllied any bodywork as well as a list of the servicing.

As for octaine. If you lift the flap over the ECU and take a look at the top. If you have no button on the dash and no "modified" label printed on the ECU or an Emerald unit then you have a standard ECU so 95/97/98 are all ok. To be honest all cerbs will generally run better on Optimax and the adaptive programming will always be enough to get you to a shell garage to re-fill with the good stuff!!!
