Yeah... Not surprised really hehe

Will try again in a bit.

Correction: ordered and downloading (slowly) now - 94GB download smile

Further correction: downloading a bit quicker now I've turned off the VPN into the office whistle They're definitely throttling bandwidth though, so it's gonna take a while.

Ubisoft are also giving away the free roam Assassin's Creed Origin and Odyssey education modes on Uplay.

"Ubisoft created no-combat Discovery Tour modes for both Origins and Odyssey. Discovery Tour is all about being leisurely and educational. For anyone who wants to learn, this mode has a vast museum-like guided tour component that delves into all aspects of the Greeks and Egyptians. For those who just want to be immersed in the worlds without any pressure, there's the freedom to roam about free of any traditional video game challenges. Discovery Tour is usually a $20 standalone product (or free for those who already own the base Origins and/or Odyssey games), but Ubisoft is giving them away for free for the next week on PC through Uplay."

I got the game but Rockstar's stty launcher is broken so can't play it. Why is it game companies have no idea how to do capacity planning and rapid upscaling? You'd think they'd have got the idea by now.

Took about 15 hours to download, but since given up. Don't know if it's Rockstar Social Club, Epic Game Store or what but just starting the game is a fking joke. Needing over 20 of those bd reCaptcha things, just neverending, just to be told that a username was already used, then my email was already used, then another problem, then another. Finally got it started, fiddled with some settings, had to restart, needed to sign in again, had the same problem with the reCapctha st (record is over 30 - never known anything like it before) only to be told that there is a problem with Epic Games launcher and I can't sign in and therefore can't play the game.

Pathetic and broken, so uninstalled (and Epic Game store can fk off as well so that got uninstalled too) and back to the PS4, playing a game within a minute. Reminds me I abandoned PC gaming before. Leave the computer for the office stuff, use a console for the gaming.

EDIT - that's not actually true and I've had zero problems on Steam. EGS seems like a load of st though and Rockstar can fk off with that Social Club st. There's an error at their end and therefore I can't sign in and play the game?! Pathetic.

Had to uninstall and reinstall the crappy Rockstar launcher before I could get past the stupid recaptcha bks and log in. It really is a complete steaming bag o'ste.

That said, really enjoying the game for the most part. Just not impressed with the implicit assumption that everyone plays with a console controller.

The controls on mouse and keyboard and mouse were bloody awful for the driving though the shooting and running was okay. I normally just use my DS4 which works a treat on Steam but I don't think works with EGS....

I had the same issues, finally got in the game, changed the settings and bumped out of the game again.... I really don't know why they try so hard to stop you playing the game. It also managed to lose the rockstar launcher just after I installed it (so had to fire up the rockstar launcher to play the game through EGS and not vice-versa) .
I also have GTA V on the PS4, haven't got round to playing it yet as I do game more on the PC (finally completed Horizon Zero Dawn last week on the PS4 - and now it is coming out on the PC this summer) .
Glad I didn't pay for the PC version.

There is a no GTAV Launcher mod on the GTAV mod site, it says it's for the SocialClub version. https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/no-gtavlauncher

It's not a crack, works only with legal copies of GTAV (not the steam version, but not a problem here).

I haven't installed the Epic one so can't say if it works or not, but the file was last updated in April 2020.

Funny you should say that - I finished Horizon yesterday. Great game. Will wait a week or two and see if GTA has been sorted. Got the Uncharted Collection to play anyway (also free!).

Got it and installed it OK, took a while and a bit of hoop jumping - and fixing Epic Launcher so it would show up - and now it's done. Grabbed Civilization 6 too while it's there.

Laptop will run it very nicely with all the graphics cranked up but it is a bit noisy and hot. Also even a 300W PSU apparently isn't enough, it's running so hard it's slowly drawing the battery down too.

Just FYI, if you go to the Epic Store website and login you can add the games to your account without needing to use the Epic Launcher, or even having the launcher installed. Just in case anyone was doing it all via the launcher and having problems.
