Can someone confirm what should the ISO wiring be for a 2003 car with PCM but no amp? (speakers on top of dash - not in the doors).
I have a black iso and a brown iso with speaker connections - no fibre optical amps etc

Here we have the black plug, where multimeter seems to indicate that pin 2 is switched live, pin 4 is permanent live, and pin 8 is ground - that doesn't match up with any diagram i've found ( mind you PCM worked fine before pulled out)

Your misreading the plug IMHO, ie plug cavities are wire entry face, not terminal face.

According to the diagram the switched live is on pin 7. Pin 2 is the telephone mute by all accounts.

That said looking at the photo, there is no metal connector in 7. Perhaps this has been hacked about and moved to pin hole 2.

I've bought a universal ISO extension and rewired pin 4 to 7 and 2 to 4 to install a Continental DAB/FM/USB radio. Works like a charm.
