Watch working intermittently since battery change.

I know this falls a long way short of a prerequisite PH-approved Rolex Daytona thread, but anyway...

My OH has a little Skagen watch. It stopped working the other day so she ordered a new battery (Renata 379) and I fitted it when it arrived. Since then the watch has worked intermittently. Any ideas?

Duff battery or improperly fitted would be a starter for ten...

ETA: Is there a sprung tensioner type terminal that has been disturbed/bent the wrong way that is now slightly loose?

As the batteries are very cheap, I'd be tempted to order another one and during the replacement make sure the contacts are clean (both on battery and watch) and that the tensioner (as mentioned above) has plenty of tension.

Thanks - I'll keep those things in mind. It seems to have settled down so we'll just keep an eye on it for now.
