My obsidian black E class estate will be soon back from some bodywork (exciting!!) and I was wondering what tips you guys might have for when I get the car back again.

Ask them how long you need to wait before sealing the paintwork. Apparently, as I have been told, the paint needs to allow all the gasses out as it hardens before you can apply any coatings etc.

don't touch it for a few weeks post getting it back, the paint takes a long time to fully gas out, and it might take 2 or 3 weeks before any faults appear in the new paint work (fingers crossed they don't, but a car that looks immaculate on collection day can look quite different a few weeks later).

Just keep an eye on it for now, leave any waxing or sealing for 4-6 weeks.

Also if you have had the bonnet or front bumper done try to avoid using it until the paint and lacquer properly harden up... again a couple weeks at least. New paint stone chips pretty easily.

Nice guidance, thanks. It shouldn't be too hard to avoid using but it'll get quite dirty as the driveway is adjacent to a busy road.
