Hello,
I'm considering a 2010-2012 AM Rapide (or a Maserati quattroporte GTS of the same age)
Viewed a Rapide from 2011 with 50k KM (31k miles) and here comes a couple of questions where you might be able to help me out.

When revving to 1,500 rpm with the hands on the wheel I could feel a distinct (not very sytong but clearly noticeable) vibration that then disappears when revving slightly higer or lower. Any idea what it might be? I checked the wheels for the fan and can't see any of them being damaged (e.g. the rubber seals).
This was the first Rapide I looked at but I suppose the v12 shall run very evenly and smooth through the rev range? Or??
Time to back out and wait for another example maybe?

Another annoying thing it had was a lot of wear to the black felt/rubber sill along the drivers door sill from when not lifting the shoes properly over the sill. Is it possible for an ok cost to replace this and make the car look newer?

It had some front parking marks which they offered to have fixed with a sprey etc. at a body shop.

Is it possible to add a reverse camera (looking like OEM) as this was not opted on this car? (I'll search more on the forum for this, common question I can imagine)

Thanks to this forum I've actually shifted my interest more towards the Rapide as many have mentioned the QP is more expensive to maintain even in relation to the Rapide! I didn't expect that...

Many thanks in advance!

That vibration could be as simple as a spark plug coil. If you are serious re the car I would get a proper PPI done and ensure they check for miss fires in the process. As for wear on the felt not a biggy to have replaced probably a couple of hundred $$i

What sort of budget do you have?

Mine is as smooth as silk, any engine noises almost imperceptible below the 3k point where valves open. Certainly no shudder, so that doesn’t sound right, but as said could be an easy fix.

FWIW the rubber door sills/seals on mine are worn as well, I think it’s due to the felt deteriorating/perishing through age rather than misuse. However the rest of the interior/car is immaculate. So would tend to look closer at the leather (of which there is a LOT!)

Any pics?

That sounds like a resonance through the exhaust system. An emissions check should tell if it has a misfire.

Hello!

Many thanks for the insights, much appreciated.
If I go for this car I'd negotiate a service as part of the deal and any issues showing up at it as well as a retouch of the front parking marks. Let's see.... might wait for one with black interior considering our kids...
Here's a pic of the inside, as you can see the leather is a bit worn on the left side bolster.

Have a nice Sunday eve everyone, and stay safe at home!

Having had a Maserati GranTurismo before my current Vantage N420, I can say I prefer the Aston, mainly because of build quality (especially interior) and the more special feeling she gives you. More artisanal.

James and the Aston Installations boys are the leading chaps for camera and upgrades. I have a camera retrofitted to mine - very discrete and displays on the pop-up navigation screen.
