KFC and McDonald's reopening
Discussion
I got the exciting news that KFC is reopening for deliveries so i decided to order. Went on their web site got redirected to Just Eat and the price was over £24!!! over £7 more then normal price. Complained to Just Eat who have not answered and KFC who said they have no say over the prices!
Then there is McDonald's (miss their milk shakes) who are opening 15 stores in the south as a trial. However McDonald continued to operate for drive through and deliveries in other countries, (Poland and Portugal I believe) and if that is so why did they not do this in the UK?
Surprised Burger King decided to shut too.

For years, it's been cheaper to buy through Just Eat with online discounts etc. So much so that some of the takeaways round here were offering discounts if you collected because they had to give a 'cut' to Just Eat. Boot is on the other foot now I suppose but you don't 'have' to buy it.
Drive throughs are the main contributors to litter though, kids just throw the wrappers out the window. Looking forward to that .........

Never understood them closing tbh, sit safe in your car, the staff safe in a building (and barely at risk teenagers) The we local takeaway places would surely be loving it though.
Just eat charge the company 15 or 20% per order. I'd be putting my prices up on it aswel.
They had to shut because they couldn’t socially distance the staff. In the kitchen they literally fall over each other, its an extremely busy and tight working area with lots of bodies.Just eat charge the company 15 or 20% per order. I'd be putting my prices up on it aswel.
They employ a lot of older people aswell, but regardless of whether they are more or less at risk they as an employer are legally responsible for their wellbeing.
With approximately 120,000 employees in the UK, the chances are pretty high that a fair few would contract and die with CV. I’m sure that made it a pretty easy decision to make.
The new post CV19 McDs is a very different prospect both to work at and as a customer.

Why would you complain, I just don't understand it??? Just Eat are free to charge whatever they want, and it's your choice whether to order or not, but to complain just seems crazy???
Because I can, because the inflated price is a ripe off and it is my opinion.People who complain that no one should have an opinion are the crazy ones or they could be submissive I guess?

So how are they open abroad and how will they manage now, what is the difference? They employ a lot of older people aswell, but regardless of whether they are more or less at risk they as an employer are legally responsible for their wellbeing.

Surely if the restaurant bit closed there is a need for less staff, how do Pizza Hut manage?
I am guessing the government paying 80% of the salary made it more economical to close and now the government is threatening to reduce this they are going to find a way round it.
KFC reopened on th Isle of Wight a couple of days ago

KFC drive through us open now. Quite a few of them I believe. I had my first in months yesterday from the Bristol one. Mmmmmmmmm
Which one?! If Cribbs or Filton drive through are open I’m going that way today!

Cribbs my friend. It was worth it. Queue was long but only took 10-15 minutes to battle it
I could see a queue back toward Vue as I went past.. appreciate it may have been worse being a Saturday, but if I’m going to wait that long it’ll need to be for more than just a pre dinner snack
Our local one has just re-opened. Went to uber eats to have a look, a decent meal was £8-9 each plus £3.50 delivery. We didn't bother, I can't face spending over £20 on KFC.
I suppose it comes down to the individual, I love cooking and got a deep fryer, I can do a much better version for a fraction of the cost (including the MSG bit) so won't bother but I can imagine for many it's worth the cost.
In lockdown, the only thing I have really missed from the take away is nan bread. I can do a pretty good version of everything else at home myself (bighead).

Aldi mini-naan are really good but even better if you have an Iceland Food Warehouse near they do giant flame baked naans. Dirt cheap and 18" long, proper restaurant style naan.
I bought 4 packs of the Aldi ones last time I spotted them.
