BMW 335D ticking noise when engine off for 5-10 seconds.

Hello guys,

Yesterday my car started making a ticking noise when I turn off the engine. It only lasts for 5-10 seconds and then stops but it’s very loud and annoying. Any ideas what this could be?

Is this the noise (it can happen on N47 and N57 engines)?

I know a lot have had this noise, with little resolution, BMW consider it a "comfort" issue in many cases and nothing more.

Not entirely sure it stops after 10 seconds though so not sure if it’s a major issue? My reg is CA64 KGN, is that one of the engines you mentioned ?

Looks like the N57 and your noise may be the swirl flap motor.
