EP3 Or MK5 GTI DSG

Hi guys,

I am planning to buy a car for the weekend so on my days off i could have a bit of fun but i cannot decide if i should buy the EP3 and build it over time or buy a MK5 GTI DSG. Which one would you guys prefer and why?

From the two choices - CTR as I like changing gears, and, well... VTEC.

Bought mine 6 years ago and still have it, I’d have got bored of a golf in that time I reckon.

Tempted to go for the EP3 tbh but i like DSG fart lol the MK5 GTI DSG farts sound so nice especially with the APR exhaust.

Same. I don't really associate flicking a paddle as that much fun in comparison rightly or wrongly.

As the numbers dwindle they will start to get rarer for sure. The absolute newest ones are 14 years old and the oldest nearly 20 years old.

Looks a bit rough round the edges, you might end up spending more than you’d pay for a nicer one just to make it nice!

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but a MK5 Golf GTI can never be described as fun. It's a very capable car don't get me wrong but if I was looking for something for the weekend then these wouldn't even enter my head

I've never been a V-TEC fan I'm afraid.

My friend has a MK5 GTI DSG Stage 2+ from R-Tech its pushing 360bhp and tbh seems fun sounds very nice with the APR exhaust aswell

I bet that is pretty lively with 360bhp going to only the front wheels for sure!
