Please excuse me if this has been done 97 million times, but I am bored, and my bike needs a new battery.

How many biker tribes are there, and which one(s) do you belong to?

I am not a power ranger, because I do not own a large bike, and I do not wear a one piece suit with a bump on the back. I do however wear an armoured leather jacket (black with two white stripes in a 1960s style), ex police black leather trousers, and long black 1960s boots. I prefer an open faced helmet (white with Italian tricolore stripes), but also have a plain silver full face helmet.

My bike is a medium sized 1980s Italian bike and is not fast.

So, not power ranger, not cafe racer, but somewhere in between? Retro idiot?

My brother rides a cruiser bike. He is a heavy metal dude. He wears a tatty old leather double breasted jacket and armoured jeans, cowboy style boots, and a dark open faced helmet. He is obviously a biker style of biker.

NOTE: I am not attempting to sow division . The idea of tribes is of course nonsense. This is just light hearted blather.

No idea on the number of tribes...not sure I belong to any, I just like riding smile

Honda NC750X which looks like an adventure bike but firmly isn't. Normally ridden wearing bike jeans & a leather jacket if ridden for leisure, or textiles for commuting. Black full face helmet. Whatever tribe that puts me in!

Sensible commuter biker? Centrist Dad?

The tribes I can see are -

Power Rangers

Cafe Racers/Classic Brits

Biker bikers (Motorheadish)

Textile tourer dudes

Adventure dudes

Teenagers (age immaterial)

I'm part of the awesome tribe, middle aged, refuse to get old, ride at warp factor 10 some days, cruise around knowing I'm awesome other days, power rangers aspire to be awesome but very few make the cut.

I'm not a biker, I don't wear patches, I don't have greasy hair or ride a stupid potato-potato middle-aged crisis bag of wk.

Not really sure im in any trible in particular. I ride a naked style bike or a cruiser, and wear a jacket n jeans, I like all kinds of bikes really and can have fun riding anything from a Honda cub to a Panigale. I do have a power ranger outfit hung up in the garage but haven't worn it since my last track day a few years ago frown

Depending which bike I'm riding I am either a power ranger or a teenager.

Maybe that puts me in a new category?

Power Wa**er??

On the road I’m not sure, I ride a naked and wear black 2 piece leathers, so I wouldn’t really say power ranger.
My track setup I don’t think there’s any doubt is as power ranger as can possibly be! Very very rare I wear that 1 piece on the road though, even though my road bike is orange as well!

Great shot, and you appear to know what your are doing! I could never ride that well. I bimble on a bike that is sporty but tourish. It has a half fairing. The tyres are narrow, but if they were wide they would have big chicken strips on them!

Definitely in the power ranger tribe. Arthritis chapter.

I don’t ride on the road anymore though. That may change if I can’t get on track this year. I would still be a power ranger.

I’ve been part of most of the tribes I guess apart from the cruiser riders, never understood those.

I don’t think I’ve truly fitted in with any of the tribes though as I’ve always been too young. There’s not many people my age (28 now)that ride bikes. I bought a BMW at 19 and most of the people on owners forums were old enough to be my grandad. I was doing track days at 22 and most others were old enough to be my dad.

Whilst I worked in the biking industry I was part of the tribe where all the customers assume you know everything about bikes and must ride at warp factor 11 everywhere because you’re so good.

I have no club or tribe as such although have a fair few biker friends that are in different tribes.

I have a general love of all things biker from 125’s to H2’s and just enjoy the life without taking on any of the biker identities.

I have mediocre levels of talent, know my limits but am actively working on improving. I ride a S1000R in lots of different outfits (depends on my mood but usually textiles and biker jeans). Some days I ride fast and some days I just flow with the traffic.

I love just to ride fast or slow and the freedom I feel when riding. I also love there are no distractions just me and a great bike (imho).

Ride a 1200GS with no intention of ever taking it off road, if they did one with the same seating position but no off road pretentions I'd prefer it.
Don't wear leather except in my gloves, partly because leather suits look totally ridiculous.
Like to think I'm an all weather rider, but in reality I rarely ride without it raining at some point.
Never ride in groups though I've tried in the past. Either the rider in front goes slower than I would, which is frustrating, or (more likely) faster, in which case I find myself riding on my own. Also the type of riders who like group rides tend to be the ones who won't get out of bed on a Sunday until mid morning so miss the best part of the day.
Never ride on tracks.
Believe an exhaust can never be too quiet.
Believe the bike must be serious transport, that's how I justify the expense.

Boring tribe

(I am joking I can see why people don’t dress up in power ranger outfits like I do sometimes....)
