Im watching the repeats of this
Its so good,
The subtle humour, the way the germans are made out to be fools.

Every scene really well written.

Everyone is made out to be fools. That's the point.

It's very good though. A couple of series too many of course.

It's a great theme for parties as so many characters and costumes are pretty easy to acquire.

Same here, also in 1988... With my parents, and I was 8 at the time!

I like it but "The subtle humour"???

It's about as subtle as smacking someone in the face with a turbot.

I remember seeing a documentary about comedies, which discussed the various things that comedies needed to be good. 'Allo 'Allo had all of them!

Went to a local amdram version of it a few months ago!

I was 16. My best friends’ Dad had just come out and he and his new partner had a fabulous New Years Eve party with an ‘Allo ‘Allo theme. I was dressed as a waitress, my friend as an Airman, another as Madonna with the big boobies. It was brilliant fun. If I can find a the photo of us all I’ll post it. You’ll be pissing yourself (by the doorway).

On a more serous note the fatality rate in the wartime French Resistance was reckoned to be about 25% so the real Renee and his family and staff really were dicing with death.

Still enjoy watching the odd repeat though.

True, but the RAF pilots they sheltered in their attic faced 40+%death rate, and the guys in the U-Boats were facing 75%, which I really struggle with.

Slightly off topic but who can remember Vicki Michelle as Sally O'Brien?

True, but no-one strips down to their scanties quite like Kim Hartmann.

Sally O’ Brien and the way she would look at you. An advert for Harp Larger IIRC.

Rene did face a firing squad and was killed once. It was his twin brother who took over wink

Same here, saw it at the Palladium, as I remember, it was much ruder and very funny. Also worked once with Vicki Michelle when she was still modelling in about 82.
