For the changeover from the Bosch FI to the Weber cars did the factory use a different number on the chassis to that on the VIN plate?

For example, did they use whatever chassis came off production (with its unique number) and then build the car and then create the VIN with the number that was next in production sequence?

If so, is it possible that during the changeover could an early Weber car have used a surplus Bosch car chassis where the numbers differ?

That is probably a question for the AMOC Forum.

Some DBS V8 were built with surplus DBS chassis. Identical, but the stamp on the chassis starts 5xxx and the brass plaque dbsv8/10xxx

The comoany development V8 did drop the dBS from the chasis number, but from rough memory the numbers were concurrent.
