Prop-shaft Grease?

Anyone know if the stuff used to grease the prop-shaft and steering rack is the standard stuff or some sort of special stuff? And can anyone recommend some?

Feeling a bit sorry for you with no responses - I don't know much but would think you would use normal grease (the same as for wheel bearings etc). Can't think why prop shaft or steering would need anything special................

My owners manual says use Mobiltemp Grease SHC 100 for the Wheel bearings and other grease points and NLGI 2 for thwe CV Joints.

I managed to get some of the Mobil grease but it was about 20 quid for a pot and its red, but i think that really any normal greas would be fine for the prop-shafts.

AFAIK they just need grease and as long as they are not dry they probably won't care about the type of grease too much. It is a pain in the ass to grease though as the exhaust has to come off.

Cheers guys, the exhaust is off the car anyway as I'm changing the clutch. With the prop shaft lying on the floor next to the car it seamed an ideal time the give it some attention!
