So, no n/a engines for the 992 GT3/GT3RS??
Discussion
Yep, NA for the 992 GT3s but not the Carrera.
Not sure why it costs too much in R&D to flip the 4.0 from the Cayster around and into a 911. It was cost effective to develop it for the Cayster platform, of which they sell fewer units in total? I would imagine it's more that the 992 product with all its technology doesn't sit with an old-skool engine. Although he's the boss and that's what he's said...

I don’t mean GTS , I mean the 911 GT2/3 RS models. If demand for NA in 911 is not high, then Porsche want to preserve that demand for the more expensive ‘halo’ GT models.
Manual even available on Targa so certification can’t be that problematic or expensive. Manual must be had with sport chrono and is same price as PDK, so Porsche definitely protecting, if not enhancing, profit margins.

I would imagine fleet CO2 averages are in the mix too. The smaller the number of manual and nasp cars produced, the better the overall fleet average (within whatever allocation Porsche have agreed as part of VAG's overall target).
Yup volumes of these cars are limited by how many EV’s/Hybrid’s they can sell. SFO said:
The GT4 and Spyder are not true GT cars IMO as they don’t have the bonkers engine, heritage, and profit margins are lower than 911s
Interesting viewpoint. They're designed and developed by the GT department so they're no less 'GT car' than anything else to me. It sounds like you're confusing 'GT car' with 'halo product'? Although you could argue that the GT4 and Spyder are halo products for the Cayster line rather than the whole of Porsche, like the 911 GT cars.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
