Hi all,

I have a Lexus RX400h, and as with seemingly every other owner, Ive had the rear catalytic converter stolen. I have a replacement part ready to install, but its about 7cm short. I wanted to get the part fabricated but its pretty hard getting anywhere local - and its been suggested that I instead buy an exhaust sleeve to either side to bridge the gap, and clamps to secure.

This seems quite a simple fix - and simply put im worried its a bodge job that will just cause further problems. Is there anyone that could advise whether this was a good course of action?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you're trying to connect two pieces of exhaust which are the same size and are aligned with each other, a coupler is a reasonable way to do that.

Great, thank you. I was worried about the heat from cat - but sounds like it is a worthwhile solution. Thanks!
