The 'who's been made redundant by C-19' thread.
Discussion
Whilst mine isn't actually official yet, the closing of every depot in the country and return of all the vans to Northgate says it all for the drivers in my company, that I won't name right now.
Luckily I have been with the company some 14-15 years, so will get a decent redundancy, and as luck would have it I planned on leaving soon and getting a HGV license and job anyway. Now I just need to hope I can find work quickly once qualified.
Who else has been made redundant as a cause of C-19?

Furloughed, but I know there is nothing to go back to.
I have been applying since my furlough started and had mixed success, not quite got there yet to the new role (but came close).
That being said for many of the roles I am going for my slightly more technical edge is helping, and I have used the furlough time wisely to complete the certs for some of the things I was already doing/planning in my current role for things that are regularly used.
I have found some questions interesting during interviews surrounding how I am spending my furlough time, and no it is not sitting idle as per above.

Sounds like we work in the same company, as I got similar news yesterday! I work in a sales role, been there just over a year.Luckily I have been with the company some 14-15 years, so will get a decent redundancy, and as luck would have it I planned on leaving soon and getting a HGV license and job anyway. It has been on the cards for a few weeks now for me. They filed the paper work for administration whilst they were looking for investment, and managed to save one part of the company, but it looks like the distribution side is no longer needed/viable.I am also still on Furlough, so the longer that caries on the better. I won't be able to do the theory till earliest 1st June when they reopen, and don't know when I will be able to do the practical side of things.
Been put 'at risk'. The Oil & Gas industry is being double teamed by low oil prices and Covid. If no position is found for me my employment with my current company will be terminated after 11 years.
I am being asked how many hours overtime I am willing to do by my current project. Running to stand still.

I'm at risk of it, just waiting for the axe to fall. Most of my department are back and an email went out yesterday saying that current staffing levels are sufficient for now. I've been applying for jobs since the furlough started and it's rare that I even get an email back confirming application, let alone anything else.
Been at the company for 10 months after redundancy last year so won't get a penny.

Job role put at risk yesterday, along with 10% of UK workforce!
Been there 22 years, but moved to a new role last year - my team has been decimated!
Luckily, I have been offered a decent package as well as 3 months PILON, hopefully get a nice local job with zero pressure and use some of that pension fund they thankfully paid into all that time.

I received my notice of redundancy last week after a period of furlough. Around 25% of employees got the chop with most of the rest still on furlough.
among my friends it seems a real mixed bag across a broad range of industries at the moment, even some that are doing OK in terms of demand for products and services, but I think things will get worse across the board very quickly as furlough starts to be phased out and people stop spending as they realise they are next in line for a P45.

I was advised this week that "my role has been identified within a scoring job pool from which, under our current proposals, we anticipate redundancies may be required" ...
Nothing like a bit of clarity when it comes to your future, eh?Sorry to hear it and I hope it works out for you.
I've been effectively made redundant by CV19 but more by my own unlucky timing.
My last contract finished just before lockdown and I haven't been able to find anything else. The market isn't totally dead, there appear to be some roles out there, but I'm just not getting shortlisted like I would have expected to in a 'normal' market.

In my experience and field some are searching for experience that frankly is unlikely to exist.
Equally I am coming across the opposite where the JD and the actual job in further conversation things are missing or it simply is out and out wrong.
Added to this is that sometimes the people interviewing dont get the more technical bits as they dont see them blah blah instead focusing on the more creative bits they can.
In one interview the manager loved me, I could tell his colleague just did not value it or get it from a technical perspective.
In my eyes I can they need more exposure via technical expertise, that being said I can see that the colleague just wanted someone to do the creative bits they could see and erm frankly wont get the exposure they need it might look pretty though but that is it.

Jobsearching seems to have changed totally - I used to be able to apply for a contract and then make a follow up call to the agent to prompt them to look at my application. You can't do that now - its just apply and wait for no reply. My last contract finished just before lockdown and I haven't been able to find anything else.
