Hi all and hope all is well,

It has been a long time since I posted - some changes in career and home life has meant that I have not had much time to work, drive or enjoy the Chim and it has been 'resting' on the drive. I have managed to do a few things on the drive, including suspension refurb, dash stuff and a Steve Edwards headlight conversion....

So after some work diagnosing an ECU issue, I now have it running and have also returned the exhaust system (manifolds and Y piece) to stock and catted again. Before you ask, too damn loud.

The interior is in need of some serious TLC - in particular the carpets. I have been speaking to D&C to supply the set which is good. I have sorted the seats before and intend to freshen those up as well, as they will need to be removed.

Thing is, once all the carpet is removed, it would be the best time to undertake the job of moving the battery to the boot etc, would it not?

I have searched through the posts and there are some good tips etc but I am keen to understand how these installs are still holding up?

It is a 93 chim 4L and I am little anxious about moving the fusebox behind the pass seat and stretching / disturbing the wires in doing that.....

So, thoughts, recommendations, pics and advice would be very welcome.

Regards
Phil.

Moving the fusebox and changing to a racing battery behind both seats was the best mod I've had done. But X-Works did it for me and The Trim Technician retrimmed the whole car interior.

If you know Phazed, ask him.
He did the battery conversion himself, changed his carpets and added sound insulation to the cabin under the carpets IIRC. He doubtless took photos and can advise.

My battery is in the boot, on top of the incendiary device called the fuel tank.
It was changed to an Oddessey battery too.
Mat Smith ran a new red lead straight from battery to the starter, leaving the old lead that runs across over the gearbox area to work in reverse.

I also have an isolator switch next to it (not shown on the photo), to avoid drained batteries on long layups.
Key tip - don't isolate the battery and then slam the boot lid.
