Definitely an Austin. Either a 10 or 12 I think. I’d say 10 Cambridge off the top of my head.

Most likely it's 'D' - VD is a Lanarkshire registration, VO is Nottinghamshire.

DVLA records could be wrong or reg plate transferred to another car but if the reg was transferred it was to a 1934 sunbeam car

I've assumed the reg is avo as avd shows not valid which could also be correct if it was taken off the road many years ago

Of course Sunbeam made cars and had the current registration been on one I would hardly have commented as I did.

If you had looked it up on the DVLA vehicle enquiry system as I did, you would have seen that registration is now carried by a black 1934 346cc Sunbeam Motorcycle. The MoT checking gives nothing about the vehicle as it has no MoT history.

Please remember that it is the last two letters that are important so you should have used VD which was Lanarkshire.
The use of AVD I can't date at present but would normally have been 1930s.
As the photo was said to be Aberdeenshire, I'm sorry to have to reject the above, but Lanarkshire is nearer than Nottinghamshire - which is where 'VO led us.

AVD is Lanarkshire May to Nov 1939, AVO is Nottinghamshire July to Nov 1934.

Listed as a Sunbeam as said above.
