When it arrives , if ever.............., in 1.5 months , I will show pictures of the phone, it's mongoilian instruction manual and a power adapter that might not be a British 3 pin socket, or even any socket west of Norfolk/Suffolk

I had a Doogee X5 pro for about 2-3 years - did good service - wouldn't set the world on fire, camera was poor, but for what I wanted it for (phone calls, texts, app/internet access) it was fine. Let us all know what it's like once it arrives please.
Link to Aliexpress for those who want it.

I will do, once it turns up.

Just out of interest how much did your one cost back in the day and how did you purchase it?

Bought through Gearbest in Oct 2015 - the invoice says just under $80 for the phone. With a case and screen protector (never used the protector) it came to £56.98 (paid via PayPal)

I like green things. Post a picture before you plug it in and your house burns down / the Chinese steal your money through the internetz.

2GB RAM isn't enough in 2020 for an android phone imo, if getting a cheap generic Chinese phone it's worth looking on xda developers to see if there's any support for custom roms/firmwares as the versions shipped by the vendor are often buggy.

Using a Redmi Note 7 at the moment after my Pixel 3 died and using pixel experience custom rom it's actually pretty much identical to the google effort, camera is much improved over stock as it's using Gcam.

Excellent, I see my purchase is hardly any more after all these years. Though we are living in hard times currently.

In his case a house burning down could be a positive outcome. At least it would be great if this phone could be used as a dry-wet vacuum cleaner but I guess for 56quid we can't expect that much. biggrin

i have a Doogee S50, one of their IP68 armoured phones ( i've broken so many phones, i thought it would be worth a go)
been in heavy use for 2 and a bit years
as said above, the camera is fine but nothing spectacular. the screen isnt high res and it weighs a tonne

it is completely waterproof, has a load of storage, has survived numerous drops at speed and is still in great condition.
the battery life is fading now, so a replacement will ben needed in a year. would I get another one? probably

Well after a while finding it in their Indiana Jones Style warehouse where they have the Ark of the Covenant and 300 Chinese copies for a lot less, they have shipped

I'm guessing it will appear before the end of June with a fair tide and winds being favourable.

I've also ordered some airpods

For a fiver.

It has arrived.

The boat took so long it self isolated for 2 months just to get rid of Covid 19! Those clever Chinese think of everything.

Been unwrapped, they sent the green one I requested, so off to a good start.

I did an unboxing video whilst drunk, but the battery after 2 months at sea on the briny has a woman's battery

so it is charging as we speak.

Will upload the unboxing video soon. Note, that I am not Marques Brownlee, he even speaks better English than me .... mind you he probably will never review this badboy....

One of my mates bought one a couple of months ago. Slipped out of his pocket and dit the deck, dead as a doornail.

Went back to the Motorola Moto G series (Of which I've had 5 and know they are tough!)

I think you may find this phone doesn't run modern apps very well.

The Doogee X95 gets a lower Antutu benchmark score than a Samsung Galaxy S4 from 2013. I'm not sure if the scores are comparable as different versions of Antutu would have been used, but it gives you an idea.

A few days in - how are you finding the new phone? Or if the phone is no good, how was the beer?
