My car needs new tyres. Owned since new (28 months) and is on run flats. Two questions...

1. Has anyone switched to non-run flats and, if so, what tyre and any improvements/drawbacks? (BTW, I've got no complaints on my car in terms of ride quality, road noise, etc)
2. Sounds silly asking this, but shall I just drop it into the supplying dealer (a handy 2 miles down the road) and get them to do the tyres? I assume they price match the usual tyre fitting outlets, give or take a few quid.

Any advice gratefully received, thank you.

Bmw at Liverpool definitely price match , bonus when I got new tyres I also got 3 new wheels , I knew 1 had some corrosion in the centre cap area but the others looked fine apart from a tiny mark on the other two but they insisted on replacing under warranty .
Annoyingly 18 months down the line out of warranty and all of the wheels are ropey .

435i here, M-sport without adaptive suspension on 19's and I found the ride on the Bridgestone runflats awful.

Switched to non runflat Michelin PS4's and it's a much nicer car to drive -ride is less jarring, turn in is much more confidence inspiring, more grip. I wouldn't go back to run flats.

Same issue with corrosion from the centrecaps here but my car is five years old now so can't imagine I'm going to get anywhere with BMW replacing them. Refurb soon I guess.

Thanks gents. Car is booked in at the supplying BMW dealer and I'll be ditching the run flats.

+1 for ditching run flats. Can also highly recommend Michelin having made the switch on my old 335d xdrive touring

I've never really had a problem with run flats , Pirelli , on our 340 touring , it's also got the wife home a couple of times without having to stop when she did pick up punctures , that's worth it to me to save having to go and change a tyre or get the car recovered .

I ditched my run flats on my 335i and not looked back, its still a firm ride but doesn't crash over the bumps, they were horrific. with advice from here, I got some Michelin pilots and seem to have loads of grip

After 3 years of normal Michelin ps3 I went back to runflat Goodyear F1 Eagle assymetric 3 and they are great I would never bother going back in some ways I actually prefer them I had heard good things about them and justified
