What’s everyone’s thoughts on a Mk3 Focus RS being worth considerably more in say 10 years.
Now they have stopped production of these cars I have had my eye on one with only 2500 miles on it. I would only use it on dry days at weekends and maybe do 2k miles a year tops and it would be garaged the rest of the time.
Looking how escort coswoths etc have increased in price it’s got me thinking.

As an owner who's trading in his low(ish) miles one in a few days I'm sure it won't drop much lower than what it is currently.Now they have stopped production of these cars I have had my eye on one with only 2500 miles on it. The problem you have with it being a Ford is that you might be competing with another 100 or 200 people who have thought exactly the same as you - pretty much all of the Heritage one's are going to be low mileage examples, some probably never having been outside since delivery.
For me there's provenance to the Cosworth, the rally homologation and the history - you won't get that with any Focus to be fair.
My advice would be buy what you enjoy driving, I'll miss some elements of the RS for sure, others I won't, good luck

I don’t know if I see the Mk3 RS ever being as desirable as the Mk1 or Mk2 even. Very different cars IMO
Friend of mine has a mk1 and a mk2 (Mk1 is pretty damn rusty now!) and the mk2 is super low miles, worth the same bow as he paid 5 years ago, but he does sub 100 miles per year and stores it away from his home so hardly ever even sees it. Just seems a bit odd to me!
Im not aure it will be worth considerably more in 10 years, Mk1 RS prices are seeing decent rises now but they are 17-18 years old now. You probably won't lose money but you will have spent 10 years storing it maintaining service history etc and I presume you wouldn't be using it because you want to keep the miles down?
