Buying a new Wrangler 2.2 diesel vs 2.0 petrol

Hello everyone!

I've always wanted a Wrangler, and now's the time to indulge. I test drove a 2.2 diesel Sahara a while back and was quite impressed with how quiet and smooth the engine feels. It is a bit sluggish, though, on the brick shaped Wrangler. There wasn't a petrol available for test drive, so, has anyone tried both? I'm curious about the 2.0 petrol, it seems quite a bit faster on paper and I'm not fussed about mpg, I won't be driving it enough to matter. If anyone drove them both, what did you end up getting and why?

If you still after Wrangler I would say go for Rubicon petrol, better resale value and this 2.0 turbo is great engine.
