Irish Road Racing civil war brewing
Discussion
Sorry for another coronavirus type thread, but this is more about the effect on racing.
MotorCycling Ireland, the governing body of road racing in Ireland, has announced that all road racing is cancelled for 2020. However, as it’s Republic based, it seems some Northern Ireland races disagree and are pressing on with their racing anyway. Cookstown100 is scheduled for September and they’re adamant they’re going ahead.
Looks like it could get interesting. I’m not sure what the fall out from this is going to be, or whether it will result in a split, but it could mean quite a shake up for the sport
If people aren’t that bothered, because it’s a small set of races, this is the body that runs the NW200. There’s a big rider overlap into the TT, albeit that’s now governed by these guys.
