The shopping trolley test

No test is perfect but this seems quite a good one.

Amazing how some people can find an excuse for any antisocial behaviour - Mum’s claiming they can’t leave their child for a few seconds or the disabled (if they were able bodied enough to use the trolley by themselves then surely able to put it back too).

Another favourite of mine are those delightful people that don’t clear up their dog’s st when they take them to the park. Saw some selfish young mother this morning. Pushing a pram and strategically ignoring the dog behind her having a st. Dropped it just off the path in some brown leaves so perfect for some unsuspecting person (or child) to step in it. No doubt she would claim ignorance although it is obvious that if you take the dog to the park it is going to st (this was close to the entrance).

But the disabled not returning a trolley is complete bks. My wife is disabled and she returns the trolley even though she in constant agony.
If you can manage to walk to collect one, then you can manage to take it back. Even at Costco when i'm parked as far from the trolley park as is possible to get, i still put it back.

And don't get me started on people not cleaning up after their dogs. No it isnt nice carrying a bag full of st about but you wanted the dog so clean up after it.

saw that in the newspaper. Apparently if you take the trolley back you are a decent member of society and if you don't you are subhuman scum. What happens if you sometimes take it back and sometimes ignore it, are you alternating between being angelic and stty like digital states or are you in fact just average, neither completely good or bad? You know, like everyone is.

Too high a moral bar for me. I don’t always take my trolley back and I’m not bothered if I’m judged by it.

I'm surprised people on here would admit to not putting the trolley back - as loose trolleys are what goes blowing across the car park into your rear off side wing or wheel arch with a nice crunch.

I'm fact, I've never left a trolley loose, but have also tidies up other trollies too a number of times for that exact reason.

Most probably in the adjacent car park space, saw this very thing happen a few weeks ago, but the amazing thing was the ignorant Bint had parked in the first space next to the trolley Area, so instead of walking it around maybe 4 metres to push into the others the lazy cow left it in the space behind her boot.

I would say the bag hangers are a lower form of scum that those who just leave it.

People that don't return trolleys without good reason are s, mainly because of the potential for windblown trolleys to damage other people's cars, nevermind that it's barely a step up from littering and requires practically zero effort to return it to a proper bay.

It's a test of how rich you are, if I ditched the trolley when I went shopping i'd be £1 lighter every time.

Its not the same as littering at all. If you leave a trolley with a pound coin in it its going to be 'recycled' quickly anyway. Of course thats no use if it blows into someones car in the meantime, but if you're careful then its really not the same thing at all as throwing a crisp packet in the car park.

Whilst I accept actual littering is of course worse since the trolleys are rounded up every hour or so, the two actions share a mutual "fk everyone else, I'm gonna do what I like" attitude. Which makes them both a very good indicator of the person that does either.

The effort required to either put your trolley in the bay or hang on to a piece of litter till you find a bin is absolutely minimal so I will happily judge people on this tiny window into their personality.

I would imagine that all those too lazy to return a trolley would also be the first to complain if the postman or the TNT delivery man left letters and parcels at the end of the driveway for them to collect instead of delivering to the door.
